Thankfully the skirt was too short, and the wind chose violence otherwise the outfit would have never been complete!
I thought the wind blew one way, north south east or west?! As I made my way to a sunday brunchin with friends my skirt caught a gust from every direction but down! "If I go home, ill be too late" as I thought to myself. I made the executive decision to scurry into Dillards as the perfect excuse to shop.
*phone rings, "where are you?!" says my good friend. I gently respond, "Ill explain as soon as i get there, by the time the waiter brings my French 75 ill be walking in..." then hung up.
There was less than 100 ft between me and the front entrance when this pink cloud of a coat floated past me smelling like vanilla musk. "Excuse me ma'am, where did you get this coat? Its beautiful" the words came out of my mouth quicker than I could polish them. -- Her eyes lit up and made contact with my boots first then eventually to mine eyes. "Well arent you the cutiest thing..." she giggles from her 5 foot frame. "Its simple, women have lost touch with wearing their clothes and I refuse"

After we exchanged store recommendations and tips for elongating our pieces into multiple seasons it hit me the perfect addition to this fit would be a fur vest! A vest is universal for every season and the faux fur adds femininity. Its as if the vest was waiting on me because as soon as i made my way up the escalators there it was!
What went from a possible moment of flashing the world to sharing insight about the way clothes speak to where we are in the moment. Maturing is realizing... outgrowing clothing is the sign to throw a fit!
