"Where are my gloves? I can't find my other boot! Its cold!!" , says the one who is never cold and has a reputation of doing everything in the dark.

Dallas turned into Dallaska'sota, TX this past week and I am grateful to survived! Never have I ever seen that much snow in Dallas since 2011, and even then I was in Florida being fast with someone's son so i missed the whole thing. This year, I remember everyone mentioning how we were going to get snow and it was going to be bad but like Trump I didn't prepare. Plenty of frozen meals, lots of snacks and fruit, but NOT one bottle of water in my storage, only one roll of tissue left, and a pack of tea candles were my the bulk of my emergency snow kit.

The first day was decent. In fact it was beautiful to the point that I opened all the curtains and purposely turned off all of the lights in admiration of God's creation. The light from the snow illuminated my entire house for hours til night fall and the temperature dropped so low that I had to pull a old school move by turning on the oven and "Let that good heat warm the house up" why waste electricity? Not knowing that I should of used ALL the dangole electricity when I could cause less than 12 hrs later... BLACKOUT! I figured Id just get in my car and drive to my nearest family members house as we share and stay warm together. That idea didnt last long as I walk into my garage and my car looked at me, and said "huh?" When and how the world did I get a flat??

Day two was torcherous! I knew it was bad when I had to drink out the kitchen facet since I drank all the apple juice, rinse and dispose of towels cause i ran out of tissue, then light up a candle in each room so I could walk through the house or warm up my face. By then the temperatures dropped to 3 degrees outside and 61 degrees in my house! The only reason it was even that warm was because the electricity stayed on 60-90mins interchangeably every 6-8hrs. Therefore each moment electricity returned was an opportunity to turn on the stove, blast the heat to 75, charge up all my devices, wash a load of clothes, boil some water, heat up a meal, and check on friends and family.

By day three you would have thought I grew up in the wild! I adjusted to a routine and although it was hard not to have contact with media to know what was going on glory to God i didn't miss a meal nor a warm place to sleep cause just as I was sitting on my couch crying and praying, "Lord, Fix it!" My good girlfriend from high school rang my phone with a high pitched voice and joy yelling, "Kitty Popppppp, Are you okay?!" I guess I wasn't as cavewoman as I thought I was cause as soon as I heard her voice I broke down! I used to say all the time, "Oh yea, I could survive the wild those people are..." Girl please!

On day four and five my good girlfriend from HS was waking me up on the couch of her home asking, "Do you want breakfast?" I could barely see her past the crust in my eyes since that was the first night I was in a warm environment with 24hrs of power in days. I must admit, God is faithful! She and I along with others in the community ate, fellowshipped, laughed, and prayed for the world continuously to the point we decided to take a drive throughout the city to see if anyone needed assistance. Most areas were deserted, like ghost towns which was pleasant because it meant they were in shelter until we drove into a huge cloud of smoke!

An entire apartment building was on fire in Frisco. The apartments were blocked off from front to back as we attempted to enter and see if anyone needed assistance or had any information. Of course no one was sure of what happened but the entire Fire Department were on the case as many pedestrians watched from a safe distance. ( If you are familiar with this fire please leave it in the comments below in case there's donations that can be made )

Ice Ice Baby. Day six. The snow is melting and the ice is real! It was time to head home this day and similar to any cold day, "Lemme go warm up the car and knock down the ice off the windows" (her car, remember my car was on flat flat) Being a good neighbor I walked outside with two bowls of warm water to pour on the windows when, bloop bam pow! While laying in the 1/2 snow 1/2 ice all I could say was...

"Snovid in Dallaska'Sota, TX what was that?! The people of Texas want answers" I dont think anyone minded getting a lil snow... in fact alot of Texas were grateful cause they never experienced it, but next time can we get some preparation, and corporation please. Comment below, how was your snow week?
