” What ever happened to hard copies?” I tell you one thing, technology has a way to recreate everything. If not now then soon! Buuuut one thing I'll do my best to keep ahold of is HARD COPIES! Yea okay its lame when Kindle and Audible cost $10 a month unless you purchase the book for $10-20 one time. Okay… math isn't my strong suite, English is and i've loved reading since I could talk. My first book was Dr Seuss, “Red Fish, Blue Fish”
My last read was "The Shack", by William P Young.
Um... Lets just say that book heightened my grammatical taste from 3 star to 5! Then the reason i even read the book is a good story too! You dont wanna hear about it? Okay... so I was with my best friend one night after a long drunken girls night out and we were not ready to depart from each other, therefore we decided to call up some friends to see who wanted our loud, annoying, company. The only person to answer was a good work colleague of hers who lived downtown in a beautiful scenic area towering downtown.

So as we enter his home he greets us with a drink and bottles of water, why are wealthy people so inviting? Regardless, without asking I begin wondering around his home feeling the ambiance of his home it's like the amoma was "Generational Wealth" and i wanted it to stick to me! After hours of laughing til we had headaches I landed on the edge of his plush sofa looking at the outside view praying in my heart, "God what do you want me to do next?" At the time I was a 5 year entrepreneur with a beauty company, single, and free from responsibilities. Yet, I had faith that there was more to it than money, sex, and partying every weekend. Then just like that, a familiar image caught my eye on the bookshelf. A ladybug on the cover of a book that i've never heard nor, ever read.
I asked the homeowner, "Have you read this before?" he gently replied with a cool towel over his forehead from also a slight hungover headache he was recovering from the night before. "Yes, it's a great book take it with you"
Never has anyone offered me a book, and for some reason at the moment it felt like the most kind thing anyone could ever give me. "Really, wow thank you... It's the ladybugs, they're my favorite" under his breath and at the time I did not appreciate the words that came out of his mouth next but he said, "If you like the ladybugs just wait til you read it..." We left the next morning after we all recovered from a nap scattered all throughout the house. Went our separate ways after leaving, and putting the book on my shelf for 4 years without ever even reading the blurb. Until one day while packing m
y bags for a trip to Miami I hoped the flight would be short and the trip would be vacational, giving me time to relax and ... read! As i scrambled my book shelf for something i've never read the ladybugs literally jumped off the cover and slapped me with their wings. Can you believe Miami was not relaxing at all? Haha.
It was 30 days later when my best friend jumped in my bed as she was spending time with me during the holidays when she asked, "Are we really going to stay inside on a Saturday night?" at first I hesitated preparing my thoughts of what excuse I could use to stay home when, FLAP FLAP, the wings did 90mph on my left and right eye! "Yep, ima read this book!" I jokingly replied as she smirked back at me, "Okay cool, then read it outloud to me..." If it's not amongst many things, one thing my best friend knows about me is... I can't stand attention! So because I knew she was trying my character, and although attention is my weakness, change is my strength! I opened the book and began reading out loud to her til sh
e feel peacefully asleep. Long story short, I finished the book within 14 days because it was soooooo good and sooooo informative that I read it slow and steady in order to not miss anything. Oh and the kicker is, there's a movie based on the book! This book will change your persepective of who God is and what he thinks of our relationships with him.
What book changed your perspective? What's your fave genre?
